short & sweet

Just a quick lil guy I worked up last night as I was finishing up a set of cookies for my favorite little almost 2 year old!
I have been wanting to do a cookie like this for some time, and I thought about a heart one for Valentine's day, but of course, I ran out of time! So I just whipped it up last night and I love it! I was thinking...(scary I know) how perfect would this be to give out as gender announcement favors at a baby shower or as a baby shower favor in general! You could even do pink...that would be adorable!
Well nighty night blog world, happy baking, happier eating!

  5. He's almost too cute for words and love that he's riding high on the waves! Yes, a great idea for a gender announcement or baby shower.

    1. I dont think I posted the recipe I use for my icing. I use royal icing, and I use the Wilton recipe. You can google for full description but here is the recipe:
      3 tbsp. meringue powder
      6 tbsp. water + 1 tsp. vanilla
      1 lb powdered sugar
-add water, vanilla and meringue powder, whisk to combine.
-dump in all powdered sugar and turn mixer on medium for about 3-5 minutes. It will be very thick, add water to get the consistency you need

      Hope this helps!!!

  7. I love this cookies! How did you get the black sugar pearl not to bleed in the icing? That's my challenge these days. Can you share what brand of pearls you use?

    Adorable job!!

    1. Hi! Oh my sorry it took me so long to reply, I'm getting settled after our big move and it has been a process! The pearls I use have thus far not given me any bleeding problems, knock on wood. I will send you what brand they are once I get home and check out what brand they are :) thanks for following!
