Queen Of The Jungle {Baby Shower}

Last weekend I had the pleasure of throwing a baby shower for a girl I work with. Myself and one of my other co-workers organized it and somehow everything turned out great! We decided on the colorful theme of "Queen Of The Jungle" and I couldn't wait to do the cake and cookie favors as I had the perfect idea in mind.
For the cookie favors, I did a round sugar cookie with scalloped edges and decorated them with the pink tiger. For the cake, after deciding on the theme, I knew exactly what I wanted to do! I wanted to incorporate the big colored dots, the pink tiger and the cool palm trees. I have to say, this was one of those rare times that the finished product looks like what I picture in my mind. I love when that happens!
The cake was a butter-vanilla bean cake with whipped cream and fresh strawberry filling. I frosted the entire cake with the whipped cream frosting that I used for the filling because I wanted the cake to be light and airy for our Sunday midday shower. I then did all of the decorating in fondant. I wasn't sure how this was going to turn out with putting the fondant on the whipped cream frosting, but it turned out great and didn't have the heaviness of fondant covering the entire cake.
In addition to the cake and cookie favors, I made chocolate covered marshmallows and white-chocolate covered pretzels, yummy! Everything turned out great and matched wonderfully with what my co-party planner had in mind.
Emily made this delicious water...I could not get enough of it! So pretty too right!
Only one problem...
90 degree weather in October + whipped cream frosting = eat your cake quickly!
