Whirlwind!

So I have a little problem...I cannot seem to allow the simple word of 'no' to come out of my lips. I have tried and tried and tried tried tried, it just won't come out and I don't know why! I have been vexed with this my whole life and I blame this condition for why I sleep very little and do very lotta! Truth be told, I love to be super overly busy...it makes me feel alive! I thrive when I have a whole lot to do and little time to do it in! Anyone else like this? I imagine there are many of us crazed with this problem, but that is what makes us who we are right!
Well, last week was just one of those weeks. So despite utter exhaustion that surmounted by Friday afternoon I managed to make lemon curd, 10 dozen decorated sugar cookies and 6 dozen cupcakes all intermixed within my 'real job' work week. I almost successfully made it through the work week without any casualties. Unfortunately, Friday morning when I was making the cupcakes after a 24 hour shift, my brain was synapsing at about 20% of normal and my favorite measuring cup (from one of my favorite friends) suffered destruction. I felt the cup slip from my fingers, saw it fall into the bowl of the electric mixer (which was running on low), knew I needed to turn it off to save it but just couldn't move fast enough. In mere seconds I heard a bang, pop, crash and knew my little guy was busted apart...sure enough he was.
R.I.P. Mr. 1/4 c. measuring cup
Despite my loss, everything else turned out just great and hopefully everyone else thought so as well. Here are some pics, I am splitting them into two posts as there are a lot of pics!
Loved the way all the lemons looked on my counter after making my lemon curd!
Some vanilla cupcakes with lemon curd filling and Itallian meringue mums.
4 dozen pink & green 'get well' balloons
4 dozen 'get well' coookies that I got to be totally creative with the design. I love those sets, it is fun to do a total mix and match set that somehow all comes together. Here were some of my favs. I loved these circle ones, they reminded me of doughnuts!
 love the bottom one here!
 cookies everywhere!
this was totally one of my favorites, I am loving the brush embroidery!
loved loved loved this idea I had, super simple and delicate
Happy Baking...Happier Eating!
